Need to ask question on a camera

im wanting to get a new camera which would u recommend for a start up photography nikon d80 nikon d90 or nikon d5000 something that takes quick photos as i have 4 children and some are in sports

I think you should take nikon d80 out of your list. It's an old design. One of the first 10 mp cameras.. It's plagued with high noise problem.

torytory, as a begginer, I would buy a D5000, it is really the perfect camera for DSLR startes, as reymarkacain stated, the D5000 indeed has incredible noise performance! Perfect for capturing your kids at action, when they play or competing

The D5000 is a decent camera. I talked a friend's dad into purchasing that instead of a D3000. I think he made the right choice.

If you have the money, I would go with the D90.
