Need to change the download location of some programs

I just got a new laptop and it came with a 120gb SSD and 1TB HDD
I have the OS installed on the SSD as well as Firefox (my main browser).

I don't want to install any more programs on the SSD as I will be reserving that space for future OS updates or other programs that may need the speed.

My question is: As of now (OS and firefox) what do I need to redirect to put all downloaded items onto the HDD? EX: Firefox I need to change the download directory so it downloads onto the HDD. But what else? Is there a way to change the default "My documents, pictures, videos" locations from the OS to a file on the HDD?

Awesome thanks for that! Yes I am on windows 8.1 thanks.
Just one more thing. What about the User/Appdata folder? On my old desktop all kinds of stuff was always getting saved and downloaded there. Is there a way/is it necessary to change that?

there is a way in win 7 but since all of my SSD machines have 7 I have never needed to do it on 8. I will do some searching and post back on how to do it.
