[SOLVED] Need to exchange Asus Z87 deluxe (finally)

For a supersilent Music DAW PC I have been enjoying an ASUS Z87-DELUXE in a Fractacl Design ATX case with 32 GB RAM, super silent Noctua coolers since 2013.
It's gone south and anyway an upgrade will not harm anyone.
Most of connected HW is USB 2 or 3, no USB-C.

Anyone a suggestion for latest and greatest ASUS + INTEL CPU + RAM with

• 8+ USBs (type 2 or 3); not all do have to be in the back
• similar connections possibilities (3+ SATA III for the SSDs and HDD,
• 64 GB or 128 GB RAM

I realize I have to re-install Windows 10 PRO 64 and all the rest, fair enough but would love to keep case, discs, case-fan, powersupply, graphics card;
it should do the job for another 5-8 years....

which GPU and PSU are you using?

NVIDIA Geforce (from ancient 2013 as well); since I do need only DisplayPort + HDMI with not much processing 'power' (doing Audio)

I had looked into the ASUS PRIME X299 EDITION 30, Mainboard + Intel® Core™ i9-10940X, Prozessor + 128 GB DDR4-3600 (HyperX DIMM 128 GB DDR4-3200 Quad-Kit,) ...but if somethign does not go together well....hmm

does the 128 GB bring any issues with Windows 10 64bit and does it even help or do you guys stick to 64 GB. currently its an overkill but my toy has to stay 5 years at least.

win 10 home is limited to 128gb but pro can go to 2tb so you good there.

it's only overkill if your system won't use it. does it use all the 64gb it has now? if it does, then you could use more, if not, then the 64 is probably good enough. i don't know audio software so can't say off the top of my head.
