I have a force feedback joystick plugged into my gameport but it says it's
not connected and I only have software v3.0.
I am running Windows 2000 now and can't use the joystick. Does anyone have
this software??
Does anyone know any other way around this??

Hi Hornet,

You can get basic functionality for this device because the drivers are
already in Windows 2000, but the software for mapping keyboard buttons to
controller buttons isn't available. To use the device do the following:

1. Connect the device to the gameport
2. Start -> Run -> Control Panel
3. Switch to "Classic View".
4. Run the Gaming Options control
5. In Gaming Options Click the "Add..." button.
6. From the list choose "Microsoft SideWinder (Auto Detect)"
7. This should install your device.
