I'm building a brand new PC. I've been a fan of Windows 7 for last couple of years and now I need to make a decision for this new PC. Do I buy a copy of Windows 7 or do I buy a copy of the new Windows 10? I know I can upgrade to 10 from 7 if I choose that but the prices I've found are virtually the same. Also in both circumstances I would be buying the professional edition.

My one concern about making the upgrade is the privacy concern, I've heard a ton of negative reviews regarding that. What are your thoughts about that?

Should I stick with 7 or make the upgrade to 10? Thanks for the help / opinions!

Well like all things, 7 will eventually be phased out and support will die out. New software will probably support 7 for a while but there's no grantee. That said with any OS there's going to be some drawbacks and security/privacy concerns. Windows 10 is probably freaking out more people because it's new and everyone doesn't understand it. I'm still using 8 and won't update until I get into my new house but slowly and surely everyone I know is starting to migrate over to 10 and I haven't heard any complaints from them (minus the initial launch day crazy stuff).
