Basically, I'm looking to go crossfire to get some more performance in gaming etc. and I want to know if my my PSU will run 2 2gb 7850's safely.

Here is my system:
i5 3570k Overclocked to 4.2ghz.
ASUS P8Z77-V LX motherboard
Patriot black mamba 8gb @1600mhz
1tb hard-drive @7200rpm
Radeon HD 7850 2gb overclocked to 1ghz and memory @1.2ghz
Zalman z11 plus case
CX600 PSU

Any help would be appreciated. :)

yes a 750W will run it just fine, the only issue with your old psu is lack of headroom, you could technically run stock everything (no OC to cpu and gpus) and it would work with your system, but heavy OCs to the cpu and gpus would be drawing alot of power especially if you happen to be maxing out the 2 gpus (happens on some games and renders if you chose gpu rendering) anyway a 750W with a decent 12v rail (over 45A) is more then enough.
