Has anyone tried using addr2 800 patriot low latentcy with a biostar tforce 550 mother board at all?

Have you tried Support>Configurator. Call or email support and ask.

Yes Patriots website claims only 533 but the board supports ddr2 800. I have tried various other configurators with other companys some claim 667 and 800 support.

Normally PC6400 800 mhz. will require slightly more voltage than PC5300 to run properly. So, it depends on your MB. If your MB is a micro, micro's have less ability to adjust to the higher voltage requirements of PC6400. That could be the resaon PC5300 is listed with Patriot as compatible and PC6400 is not listed.

well the m/b is a full atx I contacted biostar and they were not very helpful. so I have contacted patriot now to see there responce, Biostar said it should it supports 800 and I mentioned that is isa low latency and a spec voltage to run too. They seemed dumb founded . 8O

I think Patriot will help. It is possible the RAM you are looking at may require too much voltage to boot up on your MB. PC6400 (generally speaking) requires 2.0 or higher voltage to run. Some PC6400 will require higher than 2.0 volts. If your MB supports PC6400 (again generally speaking) the RAM will likely work. Like I said, PC5300 requires less voltage (like 1.8 volts) from the MB to boot and run stable. Also, consider Patriot may not have tested the Low Latency Extreme performance DIMMS on your MB. I think talking to Patriot support and asking specifically is the way to go.

Yes I would agree, unfortuneatley patriot doesn't list a phone # only email. said it would be 24-48 hrs for a responce and I like need it in 30 mins lol. I did look at the manual on line for the mb in question it has a jumper setting for running 2.2 vlts on the memory for over clocking.

JDDRII_2.2V : Header for Memory Voltage Overclocking
When processing Memory Voltage Overclocking, please place the jumper to
pin1-2 Closed. The Default setting is Pin 2-3 Closed.

Memory voltage Overclocking.
Note:
1. When “JDDRII_2.2V” jumper cap is placed on Pin 1-2, memory voltage
can be manually adjusted under CMOS setup.
2. When “JDDRII_2.2V” jumper cap is placed on Pin 2-3, memory voltage
will be fixed at 2.2V automatically, and can’t be adjusted under COMS
setup.
Before setting memory voltage overclocking, please ensure that your DDR
supports up to 2.2V. (Consulting your DDR2 memory module supplier)

the ram is 2.2 volts that I will be using.

LOL. I spent hours last night messing with the jumpers on an old Intel Pentium I (Pentium 100 mhz.) Mb trying to set the jumpers. I did manage to get the MB to beep!!! I think it was a RAM problem and the RAM that runs that board is ancient.

I would think most likely the RAM you are looking at is programed to boot with the standard 1.8 volts. If the board will let you adjust in BIOS up to at least 2.2 volts, that alone would allow you to stabalize the DIMMS if need be. Jumpers!!! haha! Who said anything aout jmpers!

Well I use PC100 in my Pentium III 450 mhz setup. Last night, I drug out the Pentium I 100 mhz. CPU rig. LOL! I think the MB has about 30 jumpers. I adjusted the jumper for CPU speed (like on a 1920 Model A Ford LOL) and several other of the 30 or so assorted jumpers that seemed to control everything. It was dead when I started and was beeping like the doorbell of an expensive hooker when I was done. LOL! I have a lot of that old RAM I tried. Funny, I think I'm not resetting jumper number 13 right. That's the reset CMOS jumper. I think that's a 13 next to it. LOL!

I would call or email the MB mfg., but they went out business years ago. I'm strictly on my own.
