So, I just built a new PC and plan on adding an SSD very soon. My roommate tells me I need to reinstall windows 10 because it has all my old drivers for my old motherboard and it might conflict. I also sometimes see prompts to reinstall. I would like to move all my old programs to the new SSD. What should be my course of action?

Solution
windows 10 from the hard drive is registed to the mb of the older pc. your going to have to make a new usb windows 10 iso from windows media creation sight and install windows 10 to the ssd without the hard drive plugged in. after your done instaling windows 10 and it registered to the new pc. you can leave your old persnal files on the old drive. all you need is reinstall your programes. things like stream all you need do is point it to the old folder.

Are you just changing drives in this PC, or are you wanting to move a drive from one system to another?
