Need to replace monitor internal video cable

I have a CTX VL series 17 inch monitor. There were periods in which
the video would turn yellowish. If I jiggled the cable just right, it
would fix it...short in the cable.

Well now, I can no longer fix it. The cable needs replacing. I took
the monitor apart and took the cable out. This isn't something I
could just buy off the shelf it appears. Does anyone have any
suggestions on where I may purchase another cable?

Here are the markings on the cable:
E118077 AWM STYLE 2919 LOW VOLTAGE COMPUTER CABLE 80 DEGREES C 30V
VW-1 JI-HAW

I know these specs are probably just for the cable itself an not
necessarily for the entire cable structure. Anyway, abviously one end
has a standard monitor connection and the other end has a wide 11 pin
connector (male) that fits into a female connector on the monitor
itself.

I'll probably try calling CTX later this week (they are closed this
weekend) but I am sure they would charge me an arm and a leg.

Any suggestions welcome.

Generally, the wire breaks within an inch or two of the connector
that plugs into the computer. You can purchase a 15 pin HD male connector
at Radio Shack for less than $2.00, cut the end of the old cable and
resolder the new connector on. Use the old connector and an Ohm-meter
to determine which color wires goes to each pin.
I use a razor blade to cut the old connector hood and then use super
glue to attach it to the new connector end.
Many monitor manufacturers charge $40 to $65 for a replacement video
cable, if they even sell them.

Good point. I think mine did break close to the end that plugs into
the computer. It has a ferrite cylinder before the point that broke.
So I'd have to cut it behind the cylinder (which means I'll have to
cut it off). Will it be OK to just leave it off, or can I buy a
replacement one?

The ferrite cylinder seems to be part of the cable...ie, I can't
remove it.

I usually cut the cable just beyond the ferrite cylinder (cut off
the cylinder) and then clamp the cable in a vise and use a crow-bar
to pry off the cylinder. I then use a drill to slightly enlarge the
hole in the cylinder, so that I can put it back onto the cable and
slide it up a bit so that I can work on the cable end.
When you cutoff the connector hood, I use a sharp single-edge razor
blade and cut through the plastic on the bottom (narrow) side. That way
it is easier to pry off the hood and use it again. Don't try to open the
metal case under the hood. Just strip the wires and use and ohm-meter
to determine which wire goes to each pin.
I also slide small pieces of heat-shrink tubing over the connections
after soldering. You may not need to do this if you are careful. I also
put some hot-melt glue over the finished connector, before putting on the hood.
