I got a new modem from my provider (TC 7337 which I believe only exists in my country) which every time I turn my PC on he starts without any connection (that PC with a yellow exclamation sign on it) and I need to restart my modem in order for it to actually connect my PC. The wireless works fine.

(The modem I used before didn't require for me to restart whenever I booted my PC)

With some cable modems with just one port on the back DHCP doesn't really work. It will only negotiate and IP address for the first device to connect. Then not do so on any subsequent device. Without rebooting the modem. A shutdown of the computer would have the same effect. The best way to stop this is to use your own router. So it is always on and connected to the cable modem.

If the cable providers in your country allow it. Buy your own cable modem/router all in one unit and return theirs to them. Be sure the make and model is supported by your ISP.

I tested this yesterday. I let my modem try to work it out for a few minutes, but no only the modem page wouldn't open in the browser, but he didn't seem to want to connect either. So I guess it's not about time 🙁

So you're saying this doesn't have a solution w/o buying another modem? This is bad 🙁

not to replace the modem just to have something else connected to it so it keeps your internet connection alive every time your computer is restarted or turned off. any low priced WI-FI router will work
