Hi there

I am looking to run 6 monitors with one video card. Four of the monitors have a resolution of 2560x1600 and two are 2560x1440

All of them are display port capable 1.2

Can I used an ATI HD 7750 which has 6 DP out's

I am using these for mostly office related stuff and some videos but no gaming.

They would be extended mode, not one giant desktop.

Can someone confirm

thank you

thanks for all the comments. I found out that I can get this and save $140 or so in the process and still accomplish the same thing. Dp out to two monitors then daisy chain to each additional monitor with a dp cord. And retain all native res... HAPPY

displayport does not support daisy chaining 4 x 2560x1600 monitors in a row only 4 1920x1080 monitors.

not sure how it will cope with 3x 2560x1600 monitors, calculating it based on pixels the 3x2560x1600 comes to 12 megapixels compared to 8.2 for 4x1920x1080 so it will use more bandwith so i do not believe it will work.

you would still need a card with atleast 4 displayport outputs as most cards only use a single dual link dvi connector and the other being single link which does not support 2560x1600

mauler07. An answer I got from an ATI moderator on their forum said that the 7000 series would work provided it had two displayports.
One would handle 3 monitors per port.

I ordered both visiontek 7870 cards just to be sure. One has 6 ports the other has 2 ports (dp)

I will report back tomorrow and let you know what worked :)

well it will be interesting to see, im going based on the displayport specification

High resolution displays and multiple displays with a single cable

17.28 Gbit/s of effective video bandwidth, enough for four simultaneous 1080p60 displays (CEA-861 timings), stereoscopic 2,560 × 1,600 × 30 bit @120 Hz (CVT-R timings), or 4K UHDTV @60 Hz[note 1]

i think the 3x2560x1600 will most likely only run at 30hz/fps if it does work from the single card so things may not appear as smooth.

takes 7.8Gb of bandwidth to run a single 2560x1600 monitor at 60hz at 32bit colour depth so 3 will take 23.5Gb which is over the displayport specification.

if the monitors are at 30hz its only 11.7Gb so essentially half, so i think they will work but not at their full capability.
