Need to underclock my GPU to play BF4?

Ok, so i can´t play Bf4 at all...
I play it for about maximum of 30 minutes and then the typical Directx function "Getdeviceremoved" bla bla bla bullshit is popping up on my screen. I feel like i have tried everything now except underclocking my GPU, some people say that it might work. I do not want to do it, but i want to play Bf4 and if it works i would be very happy. I have never overclocked or underclocked my GPU before so i need help doing that, a detailed help would be very helpful! 😀

This is my computer specs:

- Operating system (Windows 7 home premium 64-bit sp1)
- CPU (AMD Phenom 2 x4 965)
- RAM 4GB dual channel DDR3 @ 535mhz (7-7-7-20)
- Motherboard (ASUStek computer INC M4A785TD-V EVO, AM3)
- GPU (248 CLH 1920x1080@60hz, 2047mb NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST (EVGA)
- HDD 1863GB Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 ATA Device (SATA)
- SSD 111GB KINGSTON SH103S3120G ATA Device (SSD)
- PSU 450W

I doubt it is an issue of clock speed if you have never overclocked. Are you running the latest beta drivers from nVidia?

In GeForce Experience it says that a new beta driver is available, 331.91 beta driver. But i had this driver downloaded before, and then i uninstalled all my drivers to again reinstall my drivers. but there was no difference in BF4 with or without the driver! :/

this is a common problem in BF4, try doing this:

- go to your BF4 folder, local drive -> program files (x86) -> origin games -> Battlefield 4 -> _Installer -> directx -> redist
- look for something called "DXSETUP"
- run the setup, and it should update your directx files

while you're at it, this update may also help your performance further, it's located under:

_Installer -> vc -> vc2012Update3 -> redist

- there's 2 files, one which ends in x64, the other in x86. you can use one of the files depending on if you have 64 bit windows or 32 bit but, why not install both? i don't see how it can hurt anything

When im double click on the two files (x64, x86) it just says "repair, uninstall or close" hmm, they are probably already installed i guess?

yep, they probably are but, go ahead and hit the "repair" option just to make sure.

it's also been suggested that manually downloading and installing .NET Framework 4.5.1 can help as well.

I played for exactly 1 hour and 52 minutes (had a timer on my phone) before BF4 freezed in the middle of a gunfight and the sound of the gun i was shooting with was constantly repeting itself, frustrating.. But it wasn´t the Directx thingy atleast! 😛

I was taking a shower and then ate some food, 30 minutes later when i started playing Battlefield again the Directx popped up again! -.-

That just sounds like the state the game is in right now. My friends in I are experiencing crashes and DirectX errors every 2 hours or less. Unfortunately, EA had DICE put a rushed game on the market, and now they are scrambling to fix it.

sorry to hear 🙁. as of right now, i'd have to agree with what expl0itfinder said, the current state of the game is quite unstable... for example, i play fine perfectly throughout day on and off but, after about 8pm, the game crashes simply because it can; there's no directx error and no evidence of a cause to the crash... at that point, the game is no longer a game and rather the ultimate frustration simulator.

have you tried using the WHQL nvidia drivers? the latest one is 331.82; the beta drivers may be not so good for your system. also, are you sure you're using 331.91 BETA drivers? the only beta driver i've seen after 331.82 is 331.93 BETA.

i'm currently using those 331.93 beta drivers right now with no issues but, i'm also using a GTX 670 SLI setup. i believe when i was using a single GTX 670, the best performing drivers for me were 331.82 WHQL

Yeah, i agree with u guys that the game is quite unstable at the moment! But i think i actually fixed my problem..
I went to Documents -> Battlefield 4 -> Settings -> And then i Deleted (PROFSAVE, PROFSAVE_header and PROFSAVE_profile).
Not sure what it does but it seriously helped for me, i have never played BF4 multiplayer for more than maybe 30 min - 2 hours at max before. But after i deleted those three files i could play for more than 2 hours, i think i played for like 4-5 hours before i went to bed last night!

Im not sure if it´s the wonder cure, but this is the best thing that i´ve tried out so far!
My current driver is the 331,82WHQL i haven´t downloaded the beta drivers yet.. but "GeForece Experience" suggest that i download them! 😛

Make sure you have the latest betas, they improve performance quite a bit for me. You deleted your profile save data, which stores things such as keybindings, visual settings, audio settings, and game settings in general. You may have actually had a graphics setting that was messing with the driver, that is now fixed.
