I am fed up with herky-jerky, stop, start, go black, constant buffering, videos up to my eyeballs!! I have an AMD Radeon HD 6350D, but I want to upgrade. I just upgraded my PSU to 500W, so what I can add to my Biostar mb that will improve my video viewing? I don't game, but just want to be able to watch videos! I have updated my drivers to the latest of everything, but still lousy video playback. Thanks in advance for your help!!

To be honest, the symptoms you describe sound more like a bad internet connection or a CPU that can't cope....upgrading the GPU won't fix this issue.

What processor do you have?
What make and model is your PSU?
What model is your Biostar motherboard?
How much can you spend?

What exactly PSU have you upgraded to? The brand and certificate (silver, platinum and so on) are very important. Apart from that, I can suggest the GT 210, the GTS 450 or even the GTX 750/ GTX 750 Ti if you feel like you really want to invest in the GPU.

Okay, you folks will have to help me give you the correct info on my puter! I am NOT tech savvy, so if you can help me help you, that would be great! I upgraded my PSU to a SEASONIC SS-550JT 550 WATT POWER SUPPLY. Yes, I installed it myself, but that was not rocket science. Just unplug and plug as you go. Do I need to look inside my computer to tell you what Biostar mb I have, or can I find that info elsewhere? Also, I just recently had a hard drive failure, so had to change that out myself as well. Again, not rocket science, just plug and play. I replaced the old unit with a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive - WD5000AAKX. What other info can I give you?

In order to check on various components, including the motherboard, open the start menu, type in "Run", press Enter, type in "/dxdiag" and then press Enter again. You will get a detailed description of most components, including the CPU, GPU and the motherboard, as well as the RAM.

If you install CPU-Z and either type or post a screenshot of the information in the CPU and Mainboard sections we can figure out the motherboard and processor

To check your CPU usage whilst playing a video, press ctrl+alt+del and then start task manager. Click on the "Performance" tab and see what happens to the % CPU usage when you are playing a video. If it's at 100% whilst you are playing a video then the culprit is almost certainly the processor.

Hi, thanks for the information. Unfortunately it's made your thread so long I can't look at it when I'm on my phone (which is when I do most of my Tom's Hardware-ing)

I've taken the relevant information out and pasted it below so could you do me a favour and delete the contents of your two posts to make the thread a bit more manageable?

If your CPU is only at 21% when you're watching a video then the CPU isn't the problem and as it's an APU, the built-in graphics are more than capable of running a video.

This leads me to suspect it's a software issue. How long ago did the problem with stuttering begin? Have you tried a different browser?

Download, install and run the program Malwarebytes and fix any problems it encounters www.malwarebytes.org

Check the health of your Hard Drive using a program like Crystal Disk Info http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html

And get back to me with what you learn from all this and we can take it from there
