I am currently running a system which has mobo: ASUS MOTHERBOARD H97-PRO GAMER
Ram installed: CORSAIR RAM VENGEANCE 8GB DDR3 1866FSB CMZ8GX3M1A1866C10
Need to upgrade the system to 16 GB. Is Kingston FURY Memory - 8GB Module - DDR3 1866MHz CL10 DIMM compatible with the existing ram and add up the memory to 16GB if I buy it? Please advice.

Solution
ADDING to existing modules is hit and miss it may or may not run. Even identical modules purchased at different times can be incompatible. Best to purchase a new 2x8 set.

Or just one 8GB stick at first, and in case old and new do not work well together- one more stick. Chance of different memory not working together is low, but it does happen sometimes; also motherboards sometimes do not like some ram.

There are no guarantees when mixing packages of DRAM - see items 2-6 in the fiction article I wrote here:

Additionally in your case you mention Fury and Corsair - Corsair DRAM is conventional and runs off XMP where the Fury run off Pnp (don't use XMP), which can make this mixture of sticks even harder to work. Best to get a set of DRAM in the full amount you want/need
