Hello to all...Glad I found this great and informative site!!!
I am needing to upgrade my PC for photo and video editing and new software requirements and would greatly appreciate any and all help with a solution. I prefer 4 GB only, I would rather not go down to 2GB, nor up to 6GB {unless my system will not allow 4gb}
I have a Dell Precision T1650 with the stats listed below. If I forgot something or there is other info you would like to know about the system please just ask.

The direct answer to your question: yes, a GTX 1050 Ti will indeed work in your system. However, that does not mean you should. Since you are editing, and not gaming, then you will not notice a difference in performance doing the tasks you are currently doing with a new video card. Editing requires CPU power, not GPU power (In other words, getting a new CPU is more worth it than getting a new GPU because you would not get a large performance increase). Plus, I wouldn't feel safe recommending adding a GPU into that system as the power supply is already reaching its limits on wattage.

You would be much better off getting a new CPU instead. Something like an i7-3770. It has 4 cores and 8 threads, which is twice as much as you currently have. The i7 also has a slightly faster core clock (+100 MHz) and will only draw about 10 more watts maximum (The GTX 1050 Ti would add 75 watts to the system which is far too much for that power supply).

The i7-3770 is around 50% FASTER than your current i3-3220. The i7-3770 also has the Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics card while your current i3 only has Intel HD 2500. Intel HD 4000 is much faster than Intel HD 2500. So you would also get a GPU upgrade along with your CPU.
