I appreciate all the comments referring to my socket A mb dilemma and have decided to buck up and start fresh. Ive seen positive comments about the Abit AN8-Ultra - leaning toward this since i dont care about sli and maybe coupling it with a 64 4000+. Would anyone recommend a different processor due to price v.s. performance? Also I've seen mention of some quality ram from crucial instead of corsair which I currently have due to cost (probably upgrade to 2 gig) Keep in mind im fairly new to custom pc's and will not be doing much overclocking but would like to dabble a bit to learn. Last but certainly not least I could also use some advice on a good video card (don't need top of the line but something that will be good for moderate gaming without breaking the bank). Any advice about this basic system set up would be appreciated

You need to make sure you get a good PSU - they are the backbone of every modern PC. I'll start with that recommendation: <A HREF="http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=270402" target="_new">Enermax 535W EG565P</A>.

What's your overall budget?

1. CPU: If you're going to dabble with OCing, then save money in that department and get a <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103535" target="_new">A64 3200+ (Venice)</A> for $152. It should easily OC to 3700+ performance level.
2. Mobo: I'd agree with the AN8 Ultra. Another great option is the <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=13-123-236&depa=1" target="_new">Epox Ep-9NPA+ Ultra</A>. Just see which one has the features that you want and will use.
3. <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146970" target="_new">OCZ Performance 2X1GB</A> for $225.26
4. Vid card: Maybe something like this <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161146" target="_new">HIS X800GTO</A> for $203.

That takes you to around $780. No case ($72 for SF201T), HDDs ($100 for 250-300GB or DVDRW (only $40).
