Need two sandy bridge systems 800euro/1050 USD budget

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Video editting for PC 1 Gaming for PC 2

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, Mousepad, Speakers, Screen, 1 GPU on 1 of the computers(Have a HD 5770)

Parts Preferences: Intel processor(Sandy bridge), nVidia card for PC 2.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Yes since i have a HD 5770 already for PC 1, will eventually buy one more. Doubtfull its needed for PC2.

Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050 for PC 1, PC 2 unknown.

Additional Comments: Would love 6 GB of RAM for PC1 as video editting just eats my current 2gb of ram like its candy, fast harddrive also lessens converting times so that would be nice aswell, is 7200 RPM still the fastest? Quietness or good lookingness of the PC's in general are completely irrelevant, performance over everything. USB 3.0 would be wonderfull but not required. Also have read around a bit here and the concensuss seems to be that i5 2500 sandy bridge will be most bang for buck atm even though it just got out? Other then that while running Crossfire you need two identical graphics cards? Also using old RAM(its about three years old) is a no go i guess since they keep chaning the clip things on the motherboards?

I have chosen these parts myself, which are pretty much uneducated guesses after some digging around as i know next to nothing about hardware. I am a little bit over budget and i havent chosen a case just yet, i need to skimp down on about 100 euros but dont know where i should do that.

This would be for PC 2, my GF's gaming PC. I need to skimp 100 euros or so on this, probably a bit more since i still lack a case. And for PC 1, my own rigg im thinking of just using the same and buying another HD 5770 and run it in Crossfire. But if someone could take a look at it i'd be really gratefull as i am kinda clueless about things such as this

Nice builds. I can't really see how to cut 100 euros off those builds though other than the video card. Your going to want the 8 gigs of RAM for video editing, and 4 gigs for her gaming machine.

Well any comparable graphics cards out there which i can throw in her rigg? And maybe a cheaper motherboard? that one is about 100 euros alone which to me seems a bit much for a mobo? And just going 4gb of ram will shed some atleast. PSU was also a tiny bit expensive if there are any cheaper alternatives, also is 650w enough to run two hd5770's on a rigg?

That rig you posted is almost exactly the rig I would build if I were building one for myself today. You chose pretty much the best bang-for-your-buck components currently on the market.

If you need to shave off some cost of the gaming rig, consider dropping the GPU to a GTX 460 1GB. Those GPUs are still quite powerful and should work just fine for almost all current games. If you put a good OC on the GPU it gets even better.

The good news is that the i5-2500k should last you around 3-4 years, especially if you get into OCing it, and you can swap in the newest $200 GPU a couple years from now and still have a very good gaming rig.

Think i´ll go with the GTX 460, thanks for that one it halves the cost of the GPU which brings me very much inline with my budget. Other worries is the power supply, are there any issues in reusing an old one? Compatibility problems? Also is 650W enough to run a crossfire with two HD5770´s? Also overall compatibility of the parts is a question which i havent got a clue about. Also for the ram w/COnnector is more expensive then "connector" what is the differnce between the two? Cant seem to google a decent response to it. Thanks for the input.
