Hi, I've been planning on upgrading/building a new PC for a while now and had a thought last night if ibwould be better off upgrading my current PC rather than building a whole new one

My original idea was to build a PC with the following specs -
i5-4690k
Gtx 980ti or 970ti
With an mpower mobo

But my question is would I be better off upgrading my current PC from
Amd Fx 6300 to a fx 8350
And add a second R9 270 GPU as I already have one installed
And adding a super nova 750w

What would give me the best performance doing the whole build or doing the above upgrade?

(Also one last question if anyone can help me. How can I tell if a powersupply will have the correct pins for my board & GPU?)

Thanks, Shaun

Solution
Forget Crossfire, just get a good single GPU. If you want to bump your build for gaming then sell off the 270 and get something like a 380. If that isn't enough, then switch to Intel and skip the 3 year old 8350.
An r9 270 on its own isn't that strong and adding another isn't going to improve much really, I owned a r9 270 so I know what it is like on current gen games.

SLI is mostly used on the current generation of cards and maybe last gen to get a small boost.
