With my GTX 1050 ti having trouble running games recently, i've been thinking about getting a GTX 1070 but i'm not sure if the upgrade is worth it. Any advice on it would be much appreciated!

Solution
Since your GPU is a gold the it is either G1/G2/G3/GS

G1 is not that good while the rest are very very good.

Now G1 is not bad, just not good; it is not going to damage any parts. If you do have a G1, then you can run it just fine, just keep in mind that it will fail on you eventually (could be in 2 weeks, could be well over a year).

Its not well worth it if the OP has say an x4-860k which is struggling to even keep up with the 1050.
Would see very marginal gains wiht a 1070 in that situation.

Not to mention should make sure the OPs power supply is up to the task.

My system specs are
I5 6400 2.7ghz
EVGA 1050 ti
8 gb ram

That does not tell me what your power supply is, that tells me what the ink says that is printed on a sticker.

A good 750w psu can output 750w if necessary, a crappy 750w psu will die a quick death if you expect it to ouput 300w, and when it does die it will fry the rest of your computer with it.

Thus I need to know the actual brand and model number to tell you if it is sufficient.

From what I found it's a EVGA 750 watt gold
