Need USB Port on Old Laptop

I have an old laptop that I'd like to use to control a Lego Mindstorms Robotic Investion System kit. To do this, I need a USB port, although it doesn't have to support USB 2.0. The laptop has PCMCIA slots, but they are NOT Cardbus (32-bit) capable. The laptop also has a serial port and a parallel port. Does anyone know of any product that will allow me to add a USB port to this laptop?

I believe some of the Parallel to USB printer adapters were bi-directional and reversable.
