[SOLVED] Need wifi ethernet cable help

My Computer (hp Compaq sff pro 2400) just recently stopped connecting to WIFI though the ethernet cable, I have a plug in I use if need be but I need help. I went to the trouble shooting and it said that "the Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems" I run windows 10 and this only started up recently, it worked perfect before. Fixes or causes? I have a Nvidia gt1030 low profile graphics card

sometimes windows provided drivers are garbage. Perhaps an update screwed up the driver or you network chip is dead.

If you have a spare pci-e slot, you can buy a new wifi or ethernet adapter.

You do not "connect to WiFi using Ethernet cable".
If you are into experiments: Download some LiveCD Linux distro, boot it on that PC, and see whether it recognizes the Ethernet adapter.

Fixes or causes?

Get a USB-to Ethernet dongle (or USB-to-WiFi dongle), once your only PCI-e slot is occupied.

I second booting a linux live cd/usb--if it works there isn't not a hardware issue and it's a windows driver issue, probably caused by an update.
