I just finished building a PC the only part left is the operating system. I pluged everything in and when I turn on the monitor it flashes to some weird menu looking screen then to a screen that says: Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. Not my uncle just gave me a usb key which he says has windows 10 on it and that he used it for his laptop and it worked. When I plug it in nothing different happens differently than before. Please help.

Have you made sure you have disabled "secure boot" in the BIOS and set the USB to be the first boot device?

If you have done that and it still is working then it could be the USB and how the Windows 10 iso was installed on the USB.

I dont know how to secure boot or set the usb to first boot... 🙁

I cant get into the BIOS, so matter what i press even though at one point it says press DEL for bios it doesnt work, ive tried other methods as well none work it always doest he same thing then switches to the reboot and select blah blah

Meaning I have to pay 100$ for an os? 🙁

If you wish to use Windows, yes.
Or you could go with a Linux distro for free.

I predict Linux would not be to your liking, though.

Theres not way to get windows for free? Im on a very tight budget.

I just finished building a PC
The OS is just as much a part of the budget as is the CPU/RAM/case/etc.
Did you get those for free?

If you are a student, you can probably get it cheap from school
Or maybe your employer has an agreement with MS for a discount.

But free? No.

Yes I am a student, and yes I did get the computer for free, most of my budget was put into peripherals and a hard drive, I thought that I would be able to use it soon, oh well :s

Bottom line - Buy the OS.
