I have an old asus meb-vm mobo, yep an old socket 370 mobo with a celery processor....my friend brought it in for me to look at and its pissing me off....i usually can get things right away....I have it apart right now with the mobo on a static bag...only thing thats hooked up is the video, memory, psu of course, hdrive....when I boot I get a 4 beep post code....its four 1 second beeps...I guess this would be short beeps....

I looked up on award bios and I couldnt find [-peep-] for a 4 beep post code....could someone give me some advice?

I took out each stick of ram (it has two) and tried both one at a time in both dimms, tried an extra video card, fans are spinning but no post to the display, just the beeps....help would be greatly appreciated!!

btw, I can't put your appreciation in my pocket, so coupel of bux will do help more 😉

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...

well this mobo has integrated video...I checked to see if it was video by putting in a spare agp video card (yes it has an agp slot as well)....
I left the harddrive plugged up since it wouldnt cause any probs neways....im starting to think it is the ram but I have never seen two sticks go bad at once most of the time its one or the other....its either the ram or a bad mobo....

if the processor was bad i would get a continous beep code...being award only has several codes....hrmmm anyone? Imma borrow a stick of pc100 at work tomorrow and see if it solves the prob....if not I dont have a clue besides it being a bad mobo
