Need your opinion !

My PC won't power up unless i replace my AMD FX4100 quad core with an old AMD dual core(powers up everything ok still a lil bit sluggish in windows) THEN i plug-in the quad core and it works for 3min followed by a complete freeze... then i have to repeat the trick to get it started once more ..
i replaced everything except for the PSU
ps=quad core works if i remove the HDD but its still freezing what a clusterfu#!

What motherboard and PSU (power supply) are you currently using? Perhaps your existing motherboard won't support the new CPU's Thermal Design Power (TDP)?
