[NeedHelp] I manage to repair Corrupt MBR External Hard Drive but It's really slow

I have Repair my External Hard drive from a corrupt Master Boot Record but It's really slow, causing my Desktop to run slow as well,
I tried to format it but "It can't be format" I have to wait 10mins when I right clicked the device to show the context menu.

Model: 1TB WD My passport
OS: Windows 8

I tried to format it on a Disk Management with NTFS but its been 5hrs format still incomplete.

Run a CHKDSK on it first. It is most likely damaged.

can it be run with CHKDSK even w/o no Partition on it?
