Needing a programme to record video of gaming session

I know their is fraps but I'm wondering if their is alternative ?

Any of you have experience with fraps or anything else ?

Mostly want to reccord and be able to edit my videos (doing slow motion, adding texte audio etc).

I recently started using FRAPS and very happy with it. Took me some time to get it to record the in-game sound while not recording voice. I can still chat with teammates on TS3, Vent, or G-talk while recording which is nice. I edit with WMM 6.0.

^This. Seriously, Fraps is an amazing gift from the PC gods. What don't you like about it? It only needs DirectX9, and take up as much as 10mb of RAM. Are you mad at how super-high quality it is, causing 3GB's of video in only 2-5 minutes? There is a patch for that, Google it!
