Needing a router that lists device bandwidth usage

We are having a problem with an unidentified device on our network consuming bandwidth. We've not been able to track it down because the problem is sporadic and it would require plugging/unplugging dozens of devices.

I need to know if there are any routers (wireless, but wired is ok) that instantly show realtime bandwidth consumption by device in Kb/s or Mb/s.

We're using an Actiontec modem/router supplied by CenturyLink but it only shows packets per device, with no indication of the time period or any ability to reset the statistics... this isn't anywhere near good enough.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Sure. Even a simple Linksys AC router can do this. It lists all devices, DNS name if it can resolve it and can show average bandwidth.

However, there are easier ways to narrow down the bandwidth hog. Try network monitor tools for start. Solorwinds makes a decent one, I forget the name. Also PRTG is a really good one and its free also. (with limitations obviously).

iftop is a very basic one. not sure if the package is available on that.

You have to be careful that something you turn on doesn't stop offloading. NAT is commonly offloaded. if you see a big speed drop after messing around with stuff it might be that.
