Hey all.
I'm seeking some advice regarding setting up a remote FTP connection to my D-Link DNS320 NAS unit. I was hoping that someone here may have experience with DNS320's or similar units and FTP'ing.
I've setup a DDNS account and entered the details in the Dynamic DNS section on the DNS320. I have also forwarded port 21 on my router for the DNS320's IP address.
I've got filezilla FTP client and have entered the correct hostname, username and password and tried to connect but it keeps timing out.
If I use the IP address of the DNS320 and it's local username and password filezilla connects without any problem.
Both my PC and the DNS320 are on the same network because I'm wanting to learn how to do FTP and test it before I take the DNS320 to its new home.
Now, I'm aware that I haven't provided much info as yet but I think what I need is someone to talk me through it all from the beginning.
I know a little about networking but I'm a total newbie when it comes to FTP'ing. However I should be able to provide you with the info you need to help.
If anyone could try and assist me in my mission to successfully remotely FTP to my DNS320 I'd so very much appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance.
