NeedNew Motherbard for my DV4-2045dx

So the factory included motherboard is on its way out and i can afford to buy a brand new computer, so i was looking for a new motherboard but i dont want an amd processor, so i was wondering if i could get an Intel cor i3 or i5 or maybe an i7 mobo for my laptop, but im not sure if it would fit, any help would be appropriated

I'm seeing mobos around $50 with shipping. A whole laptop with similar specs costs the same as just the mobo alone. You could actually get a new $50 tablet that would probably be better. Don't waste the money on fixing the laptop.

True, but this laptop has sentimental value, so i would rather keep this laptop and buy a new mobo then get a new one.

During the same time was core 2 duo or similar cpus from intel. It's much older than any i series and they would have close performance anyways. To save the headache, I would just look at a replacement mobo.

Finding a motherboard for a different platform (Intel instead of AMD) for such an old laptop will be nearly impossible if possible at all.

I personaly dont like amd i would prefer intel, whats the best mobo i can get intel based

GRRRR, ok thank you for the help, i do got another question then, can i get a better cpu for my computer with my mobo

I don't see a cpu support list so if you try, it's at your own risk but it's socket s1g3. http://www.cpu-world.com/Related_CPUs/Socket%20S1%20_S1g3__K10.html I didn't see others trying either. A faster cpu will create more heat so if your laptop already had heat issues, then you may just overheat and have less performance.

Ok im just going to keep the current cpu and order a replacement mobo for my current one thank you for the help
