I have a new ABIT KR7A/XP 1800+ AMD running 110F at normal (non-gaming use)when ambient house temp is 65F, (case fan not in use as case panel is off but have 90 CFM SUNON case fan there). I want to use the Alpha 8045 HSF as it has come highly recommended. Searching thru pricewatch I saw many different prices for what appeared to be that HSF. What exactly do I need to buy to get the Alpha 8045 HSF and where would I get the lowest price on the web from a reputable reseller? I am using Arctic Silver 3 now on the CPU die with a $12 AOC ball bearing fan used by the dealer who sold me the CPU. Thank you.

I have ordered from both sites listed below and have had excellent service.

How does this Alpha HSF compare to the swiftech
MCX462 and the fan of choice is the Mechtronics.
How do i get a HSF with the fan I want?
Thanks.

I personally prefer Swiftech MCX-462. You can order a heatsink without a fan and order a fan of
your choosing. I use a Sunnon with a rheostat to control the speed and noise. With this fan I have a compromise
between performance and noise.
