Ive an ASUS A7N266 mobo with an onboard GeForce 2 GPU. (32 mb). Needs more gaming HP for FPS--budget here is limited to <100 USD. Can anyone recommend any graphics card for FPS 3-D gaming that I can drop into my 4X AGP slot? I am using an AMD 1700 Athlon CPU in either WIN 98 or WIN XP.
Thanks.

For Under $100 I would definitely reccomend a GF4 Ti4200 card which can be had for about $90 most places. I think it will fit in well with your system, and wont provide any form of bottleneck that might occur from getting a better card.

I dont think there is such a thing as a bad Ti4200...their not like ATi cards where you have to roll the freakin' dice and gamble every time you make your purchase. Get a 128mb card if you can...

Can I just drop in the TI4200 into the AGP slot on my mobo or must I disable anything on the mobo first since the Nforce has the GPU on the mobo.
Thanks.

I had a nForce(1) IGP mobo (not ASUS, I had MSI). It had no option for disabling onboard video in BIOS. I just installed the new card and the IGP was automatically disabled

If you are getting the 128MB Ti4200, make sure you get the AGP8X version, the AGP4X ones only have 444MHz memory compared to the 512MHz of the 8X ones
