Negative Crime after contra trading

Has anyone else noticed, that if you are actively trading in contraband
(i.e. buying in one turn and selling again in the next) your crime tends to
get negative?
Playing crystals, I am heavyly trading, and virtually all my bases where I
am trading at, are a few points in the negative. My HW, trading up to 25k
contra per turn, has now -27 crime.
Not that I am complaining, but this seems strange.

AFAIK there is no longer any negatives for contra trading. Everyone can
now do it to their heart is content. Only such things as cantinas,
gambling lounges etc increase your crime. Just think of it as a big
stockmarket :)

In my erpierience if you don't trade contra your happieness will be
zero. If you trade contra it will tend to go negative on the long run.

In any case you should not let the crime get too low, or the sign might
change from - to +.

And then why should there not be negative crime - at least when
considering that the amount of contra can also get negative (or could).

I do get this with no contra trading. Playing Aczanny and have 5 cantinas on
nearly every 100k+ world (and not selling the contra). So I think this is
not a feature of contra trading but of contra stockpile.
