Greetings fellow PC buffs, I'm considering buying a negative ion generator to help with dust collecting on/in my new PC. I was curious if anyone out there has experience with these devices and if they could pass on any wisdom regarding operating them near a PC.

Do they cause any interference with monitors or PCs in general?

Is there a minimum "safe distance" I should keep the ion generator from the PC?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

This is just my thoughts on the subject as I have not run any tests.... but in my experience the Ion generators tend to cause the dust in the air to fall out of the air and collect on the horizontal surfaces.

It makes me wonder if it is all that great an idea as instead of being widely dispersed it is collected and easily sucked up and redistributed by air currents.

Also you might consider the static electricity problem that you may induce.
