Neither graphics card detected on Windows 7

I recently upgraded my mobo+processor and everything is working fine except for my graphics cards (GTX 770 and Radeon 6670). I highly doubt they've BOTH failed since the upgrade, and I cannot install drivers for either of them as my computer cannot detect them, and there are therefore no drivers for either of the graphics cards. In BIOS (ASUS Z97 WS), I found the option to switch from "Main Display" from "Auto" to "PCI-E" but that did not do anything. I cannot find an option to change from the iGpu setting. It also did not work in safe mode.

The fans are spinning on both GPUs and I have tried switching PCI-E ports, and tried them each individually. I am currently running the integrated graphics from the i7 4790k. I ran a clean install of Windows after upgrading to the new mobo+processor.

Any help would be much appreciated but please keep in mind the things I've already tried.

i7 4790k
ASUS Z97 WS
Geforce GTX 770
AMD Radeon 6670
8GB DDR3 1600MhZ RAM
650W PSU

In order to get them to work (im not sure as I have no room for a AMD card lol) I think you will have to install 1 card at a time, 1st insert the GTX 770 and install the drivers, restart make sure everything is ok, shutdown and take out the 770 and put the 6670 in the other slot and install the drivers for it. Reboot when asked, make sure everything is working, shutdown and insert the 770 and I think it should work.

Im not sure what your doing with both cards, its none of my business, but when you go to update the drivers, your gonna have to do the same process again after every update.

Thanks for your response, but as I stated in the post, the drivers will not install as my computer can't detect my graphics cards with either AMD Catalyst or with Nvidia Geforce Experience. It's as if all the PCI-E ports are broken or both of my graphics cards are broken, yet the fans still work. (The Radeon 6670 was from my first build just fyi)

Ah, I thought maybe you were trying to install the drivers while both cards were plugged in at the same time.

Are you using the intel HD graphics right now? Might be a setting you have to change in bios, If I remember correctly it should say PEG on some intel boards and you can change what it will detect first.

Yep, I'm using the Intel Graphics to run my computer, I could not find an option to switch what is detected in BIOS after scouring the entire thing.
As an update, I found out that the Z97 WS doesn't support either of the graphics cards I have. It's pretty silly but as a warning to anyone who is looking to upgrade/build, be sure to check the compatibility of your motherboard with your graphics card.

Cyrus Cee, I respectfully think that the cards are indeed compatible with your motherboard. Sounds to me like you need to disable "secure boot" in your BIOS. That feature would prevent new cards from being detected. Check it out, and respond back in this post afterwards.

I don't think it would support it, I remember the GT 610 days where the mobos need a bios update in order to work. But It should work.

Thanks for your response. I disabled Secure boot but I'm still having the same issue, any other suggestions?

Just tried updating BIOS to the newest version on ASUS' website and I got the same results. Disable secure boot again, but still nothing. Thank you both for your suggestions but is there anything else I could try? If not then I suppose I'll just return the mobo and get a better one.

On NewEgg feedback, I see a lot of reliability and stability issues listed, although none quite like yours. I'm out of ideas. The clear choices seem to be to exchange for a new board of the same model, or get an entirely new model. It's a shame to experience problems like these with a $300 motherboard. I respect people like yourself that invest money into quality electronics. Sorry that I wasn't able to help. If you wouldn't mind, please post how things ended up after you get your replacement.

Got the replacement ASRock Z97 (a downgrade, I know, but it was on a nice sale!). It works as well as I expected of the ASUS Z97 WS. Both of my graphics cards worked without me having to change any BIOS settings or anything. I'm currently having an issue with my HDMI cables (unrelated) and I posted another question here if you want to check it out http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2717204/pci-ports-stopped-working-plugging-hdmi-cables.html.
