end of insane) the trick is to keep fighting them until you get more hp
walking around than you lose fighting. If you're constantly losing, go back
an area or two to where the enemies are easier and level up a bit before
carrying on. if you're losing a lot, walk around a bit until you stop
gaining hp, and then get an enemy in hunting mode and flee him to restart
the hp-getting process. or use a potion that you got from battling. Later on
when you get the healer it's a lot easier, as you can actually gain hp
during a battle.
of course, this is just my opinion, lots of people buy potions and i think
that is likely a bit faster but you spend your gp.
as for the weapons you can sell them as soon as you have better ones without
worrying about it. remember to equip the new one! as long as everyone in
your party has a weapon and an armour equipped (the one on the top of their
list will be their best, in general), you can sell the rest. i like to buy,
equip, then sell everything that wasn't equipped.
