Hello there, I have an extreme issue with my operating system, windows 10. I have been trying my absolute best to install .NET Framework 3.5 and it's Service Pack 1 which includes 2.0 and 3.0.
The error code I receive is Error Code: 0x80070002
Things I have tried:
- Using Command Prompt Admin with the Windows 10 CD inside (Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:X:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
replace X by name of DVD or virtual device.) It later leads to an Error: 0x800f081f stating Source Files Could Not Be Found.
- Going through Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Continuing from there going to Turn Windows Features On or Off and checking .NET Framework 3.5 (Includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) which later follows to a failure and error 0x80070002.
- Going to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=22 and while it does the exact same thing as going through Programs and Features, I still get the 0x80070002 error.
A lot of my software requires .NET Framework 3.5 (Such as games from Steam) and sends me to install Framework 3.5 but still keep getting this 0x80070002 error!
Finally going through Windows Update Diagnostics, (Microsofts Solution to fix such error called MicrosoftFixIt https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/910336) the problem it finds is Service Registration is Missing or Corrupt - Not Fixed. Which is another problem I have no idea to fix which problem leads to my .NET Framework 3.5 problem to fix.
Please can someone help me, I know it's a handful but this all started ever since I formatted my PC and reinstalled Windows 10 (I had Windows 10 before but had constant Blue Screens, so just did a Factory Reset)
P.S: I have went through Regedit to see what .NET Framework I have and currently I only have 4.0. There is no 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5.
EDIT: I just tried Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool and it even said the tool is unable to resolve the installation issue on my computer...
