Netflix work around possibility?

Ok, so me and a friend of mine i met on xbox live want to start watching a few TV series that are on my netflix, but the issue is that she currently resides in Japan and they aren't in the japanese catalog.

So with that said, and with contacting netflix support they said that even if she were to change her store location to America it wouldnt work as the netflix app has its own region detection via the networm the xbox one is on.

So here is my theory, if my friend hooks up an ethernet cable from their laptop to their console, make a connection bridge so thr console would b recieving internet through the PC itself, and they use a VPN on their computer and set it to America, would it fool the xbox one netflix client into showing my friend the American netflix catalog?

It'll be internet through the PC itself, no xbox involved

Google "US Forces DNS setting for Netflix" simply change your DNS entries and you'll get US Netflix. It changes after a while so you will need to update in time.
