I appreciate everyone who replied to my previous message. I decided to
start new post because, now, I have questions regarding another
product.

After discussing with my co-workers, we are checking out Netgear 8
port VPN router. Currently, we have 3 different offices and our office
only use Nortel Contivity VPN Client software and SAPlogon. We do not
use any hardwares related to VPN because we simply connect to one of 2
other offices to update our archived files and only one of them store
our files.

After searching for reviews, I found this review and I don't think I
fully understood...
"The Problem with the FVS318 is that any users on Site1 of the vpn are
not able to reach any reachable IP addresses not directly connected to
the (site 2) enterprise FVS318. If there are any subnets beyond that
the packets are denied transport by the FVS318 (on both sides)."

Is this going to affect us, if we use FVS318?

I called Netgear for pre-sales questions and they told me that they
would not support problems regarding VPN client program connection
drop, unless both office use Netgear routers, although they support
other VPN problems.

Has any of you had used VPN client software and had issue with
connection drop with this particular Netgear product? Thanks in
advance!

hi!

....if every lan uses fvs318 you don´t need client software... the routers
establish the vpn connection...

you simply need a static ip for each lan or a updateservice such as
dyndns.org...

for configuring fvs318 the manual is to find on netgear´s homepage...
