So last night my NetGear R6300 had a update for firmware, I updated it and it worked fine all night. I woke up this morning using it, around 5 I left to work and my sister texted me around 9:30-10pm today saying the internet is down, I got home and I look at the router, the internet globe light isn't on only power and wireless is showing, when I went online logged into my router it said no Ethernet cable plugged into router internet port which is false cause it is! Please help I want to start gaming again, I tried different cable cords and everything
 
for testing only connect the computer directly to the modem.

the reason you might have to reboot it is that some modems remember the MAC address of the previously connected device which will lead to the current device not being able to access the internet.

So when you connect your computer directly to the modem, reboot the modem so it will use your computers MAC address. When you switch back to your router, reboot the modem again.
