Netgear LAN keeps dropping

Hi I have a Netgear R7000, for me the connection is stable and good for my brother it is unreliable and is constantly dropping.
He drops speeds on his PS4 and PC. Speedtest shows that down speed for him is 0.30.
When I test I get 40+

He has one wire going to room, then into a mini switch. I thought this may be causing a problem so removed it from the equation and had his direct line straight into LAN on his PC. This has not made any difference.

I have set Google DNS settings on router but still seeing no improvement.
Any suggestions would be great.

Ethernet is pretty simple. In most cases when its bad it just does not even come active. It can not actually run slower. It will only run at the port speed. It always runs say 1g or 100m if you have a slower router. What might be happening though is your may be getting lots of packets with errors.

In any case there is not much that can be wrong. It is either a bad cable or a bad port. Most times it is the ends of the cable have issues. Your only realistic option it to blindly cut off and reterminate the cables. If it is not run in the wall you could just buy a new cable. The tools to actually test cables and find problems are extremely expensive...the cheap tester would likely say your cable is fine because it partially works.
