I recently bought Netgear N750(WNDR4000) router and I noticed that it constantly losing Internet connection. Before I had Linksys wrt54g router ( with tomato firmware). It was very stable and I never had this Internet connection issues. I wasn't sure is ir related to my Internet provider or to the router itself. So, I disconnected the N750 Netgear and connected back my old Linksys wrt54g four days ago. The internet connection was stable, never dropout happened for 4 days. Once, I disconnected Linksys wrt54g and connected the N750 Netgear, few hours later Internet got disconnected.

So, what it can be related? What setting to check? I have Win7 installed on my laptop. Any help is appreciated.

I just purchased the same Netgear N750(WNDR4000) router yesterday and updated to the latest firmware V1.0.0.88_9.1.77,
and am also seeing dropouts. Likewise I had no such dropouts with my previous Linksys Dir655 router.
In the WNDR4000 log I see entries like (latest first)

What firmware are you using?

I've got latest firmware. However, it doesn't really matter. I also checked that there's no DT-WRT firmware available for this router yet. Still in the process of testing.

However, it found some way around. I can say that don't have any more Internet dropouts, ... but I have a couple of times a week, instead of constant number of dropouts during the day. What I did? I simply bought the Netgear WNDA 31000 wireless adapter ( 2.4-5 Ghz).

I am having the same problem with the same router. It was working fine for about 6 months, then no internet connection (ie. no constant green internet light, and no ability to go online and adjust router settings). When I plug directly into my Charter Modem, I can get on the internet no problem, however if I connect via the WNDR4000, thats when the problem starts. Nothing has changed, and I reset the router twice to no avail. Contacting their tech support is like talking to another planet. First they tell you that your tech support has run out and you have to purchase a plan. Then they tell you it is NOT a hardware problem. How do they know this? If it is a software problem, they need to talk to their programmers. In any case, the end user ends up holding an item that no longer works, is out of tech support warranty, and it cannot be replaced! I initially had problems connecting up to my Roku Boxes using Netgear, but eventually worked it out by either adjusting the wirless connection setup, or else laying LAN cables in my attic and connecting hard wired. I have never been completely happy or satisfied with Netgear products nor their "tech support." I am planning on going with the internet service provider for home networking from now on!

Hi, I spent hoursss on this, the solution was to go back to firmware version 1.0.0.66, there's a bug in the firmware that has been introduced in the newer version and Netgear doesn't seem to be aware!!!. You can download it from their website, instructions are very easy.

Good luck
