[SOLVED] NETGEAR ReadyNAS RN526X00 - Connect directly to computer via USB?

So I have the NETGEAR ReadyNAS RN526X00. I have been using it for some time and it general works fine. However, I am really only using it to backup one computer and was hoping to see if I could simply connect it to my computer via USB 3.1. I am not concerned about speed, as it's only backing up small amounts at a time.

I looked online and could not find an answer. And no, I do not have a second Ethernet port in my MB to connect it to.

ReadyNAS currently connected to the router - correct?

Leave the ReadyNAS as a network device.

For the most part, if "it generally works fine" then apply the rule "if it is not broke then do not fix it".

At some point in time you may discover (or require) that speed matters.
