Netgear revealed the R7800 Nighthawk X4S Router at CES. It appears to have the functionality of the more premium R8500 but with one less band, and offers more value than the R7500, which it is intended to replace.

Seems like very minimal differences compared to the X4. And probably no noticeable performance increases for home users compared to the X4...

what wireless card can you get that can utilize these features? What good is a router that offers features no card supports?

The router can support talking to more than 1 device at a time, multiple at full steam ahead. Most homes have more than 1 device connected to WiFi at the same time.
