Hey guys, first post here, I made an account because this seems like a very knowledgeable community and I wasn't getting much help from NETGEAR or Time Warner Cable.

I have a Netgear N450 (cg3000dv2) Wireless Cable Docsis 3.0 modem. The problem is, the wireless connection drops out and my wireless devices (desktop and laptop) will show in the taskbar where your signal strength and SSID name is and it will show no signal, then the blue circle (Identifying) will show, then the yellow ! mark, and finally we are back in business.

That whole process above takes about 15-30 seconds, and this happens to all my PCs. Desktop is Win 7 64bit SP1, and Laptop is Win 8.1 64.

I know its not the computers, because with TWCs own equipment I have no issues, but with the Netgear this happens all day. On both devices I have created my own unique SSID name and password, I have checked the with a wifi info viewer to determine my best channel and that is 11.

Netgear has already RMA'd me a new unit with the latest firmware and TWC has updated there's and its still problematic. I am out of ideas, Netgear has been on the phone with me for hours and came up with nothing, TWC says they cant help, because when my Netgear is hardwired everything works fine and with their TWC modem all of it works great.

So I am at a loss. Any help guys is appreciated.

Just be clear, you have a TWC modem, AND this device?

If so, that seems a bit redundant.

Personally I'd get a different router, because the combo router/modems tend to be problematic, or at least not very robust, in my experience.

I have the TWC modem as a temporary solution, they are charging me monthly for it and I want to give it back and continue using my Netgear.

I would like to exhaust all options before getting another modem. I paid $120 for this and it should work. The online reviews from almost everywhere have been pretty good.

Unfortunately online reviews tend to be somewhat skewed in many cases :)

My recommendation, if the next replacement does not work, is to get a separate cable modem (modem ONLY device, with just the one ethernet port), and then a good router.
