I'm running a Windows 7 64bit

I've been seeing the message:
"Netstart: The system seems to lack either network cards or network drivers"
whenever I restart my computer to allow updates to install.
So basically I haven't been able to update my system since April.

I checked the device manager, but nothing seems to be out of order, only when I try to update the wan miniport drivers, I get an error message.
My internet connection has gotten a bit wonky, too, but it still works. I have a modem and a router connected.

I tried installing windows 10, hoping it might fix the problem somehow, but it reached all the way to the end only to give me (according to google) a driver related error "0xc1900101 - 0x40017"

I would appreciate any help in the matter.
I'm not tech savvy, but I hope I will be able to follow your advice if any is given.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Luna,

In my opinion netstat here is meaning that due to a bad driver the computer is failing to connect to the network, sometimes it is a really problem to find a driver. First of all I would recommend to try to find the manufacturer of your Network Card. If the computer is a laptop you can find it by searching its model number on the internet, or a better idea is to go to device manager, find network adapters, and find your manufacturer and model number.

Afterwards a good site to use to find your driver is www.softwarepatch.com just search your manufacturer and model number and it will show you the driver you can download it from another pc or if the computer has an inbuilt wi-fi make use of it. After downloading the driver, first try to install it with the setup.exe file if it does not have one, go to device manager and network adapters, right click on the network adapter and update driver and find the location of your downloaded file.

Hope this helps
