Network Adapter Nightmare

I recently purchased an HP 2000 notebook w/ windows 8. I also purchased a straight tlk hotspot w/ a umx u240c hotspot. Windows won't recognize the device and I can't access the internet. Tech support couldn't help. The error code is (43). Any way to fix this?

Sure there is a way to fix it! Just post the exact laptop model, the exact sequence of your actions, what went wrong at which point, how you setup the router and so on and so on.

Exchanged the device again. 3rd one!!! Appears to me to be an overheating issue w/ the device. Device is a umx u240c w/ straighttalk service. Device working fine right now. Another issue I am having is loading the driver to run a tp-link antenna w/ an eteckcity rtl8187l network adapter on to my windows 8 machine. Driver install disc is for up to windows 7, Is there any way this driver can be loaded?
