Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 motherboard (Realtek onboard lan controller)
Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.15063 Build 15063

I recently replaced the motherboard in this machine. The previous board was N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX.

I'm having an issue with my network adapter. It shows up in Device Manager; however it does not show up in network connections and I cannot connect to anything. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for the lan controller directly from Realtek (also tried directly from Gigabyte). After the installation there is message that says "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable." The driver does actually install though because when I check the driver from device manager it is the new version (10.26.328.2018). I have no anti-virus installed other than Windows Defender

I have tried Method 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9 (from here: https://www.askvg.com/fix-network-connections-folder-is-empty-in-windows-not-showing-network-adapters-list/ )

Also I cannot use wireless dongles. I have two that I tried. None of the adapters show up in network connections.

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. This machine is my media server and it is dead in the water without a network connection.

No, it would be an incredible ordeal to reload Windows on this due to it being a media server. I removed all the old drivers from the other motherboard. Everything that was a hidden device in device manager I removed. I'm having a hard time finding chipset drivers for this board for Win 10; however every single other thing is working perfectly. (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2937282/78lmt-usb3-chipset-driver-windows.html) With the age of this motherboard I'm pretty sure all the drivers are included with Win 10 and it did a cleanup at first boot.

I appreciate everyone's help. None of those things fixed it; however scout_03 mentioning the control panel made me look through the installed software list.

There was software installed for my old Intel NIC. As soon as I uninstalled it everything started working!
