I have just installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a new PC with Asus TUF B550 motherboard.

The network cable does not give me internet access. When I plug it into a different machine it works.

There are 2 LEDs next to the network port on the new PC. When I plug in the cable, one LED lights up orange. The other flashes green. So I suspect that something is happening there.

What can I try/do to get the cable working?

A B550 is a VERY new motherboard to get Linux support. That Realtek RTL8125B 2.5Gb Ethernet may be a problem. Do you have the right kernel version -- https://askubuntu.com/questions/121...tl8125-2-5gbe-controller-working-on-18-04-lts

I have this kernel, which looks like the right one:

5.4.0-26-generic

The software updater is currently download hopefully that will help, but I'll probably have to leave it overnight.
