The network diagram I should create is as follows,

Building 1
Sixteen Apple computers (small groups of four)
2 printers
1 File server

Building 2
Twenty windows computers w/ domain server (Flexibility is important)
2 file server
2 printers

Budget "medium sized company"

This is what I've created so far,

Will this network diagram work and is this the best solution? What improvements can be made?

Thank You in advance

Seconding nigelivey's question....

1) Does the diagram conform to the standards, format, and guidelines you are being taught or expected to use?

2) My first impression is that you need to "clean up the lines". More consistency is needed, especially with respect to router connections. In my mind a device connected to a router or some router to router connection should be a line between the two and not just a line drawn in anywhere and connected to another line. Especially major devices such as servers, printers, routers, switches.

3) Are you allowed to "abreviate" so to speak. Use one icon with a (x4) designation to indicate some summary grouping of computers (MACs or Windows) Your diagram would be very busy if you...

4) Are there both routers and switches? Are you leaving out required components?

I think you are well on the way to communicating the network design. Think about the cosmetics involved and what your instructor has emphasized if the diagram is for a class. If the diagram is for work then that still applies but remember that the diagram may be looked at or reviewed by non-techinical folks. Do not want to overwhelm or confuse them.

For example: Is the printer in the upper corner of Building 2 connected to the router shown "outside" of both buildings or the router in Building 1? Likewise for the file server in Building 1... I can pretty much guess the answers/intentions but making it very clear is necessary.
