I own a TP-Link wireless adapter TL-WN722N that I have had now for several years. Back when I had Windows 7 I never encountered any problems with it. However, once I upgraded to Windows 10 I now have a problem where it's constantly cutting out on me. It never stays off long, but it interrupts anything I'm doing (and since I'm trying to get some job interviews done via Skype it's become especially aggravating).

I can't imagine it's a hardware problem since it worked fine on Windows 7, but I also can't understand why it would NOT work just because I'm using Windows 10. I tried playing with some settings that could potentially turn it off to save power, but that didn't do anything. I've changed USB ports but that hasn't fixed anything either.

Does anybody have any ideas why this would happen?

When it disconnects, it disconnects as though the USB itself is unplugged. No other wi-fi's are registered in the area, and when it reconnects it gives me the notification of having just inserted a USB.

Ah, I see.

Have you tried multiple USB ports to see if this exists in a single port or just that one? Also test to see if this happens in both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.

The last thing I would check is to go to TP-Links website and ensure that the dongle is compatible with windows 10. They may not have released new drivers for windows 10 on that specific dongle.

Your USB drivers may also not be up to date or correct. Attempt to diagnose those drivers.

Also, you may need to update your bios on your motherboard. I am unsure if this has anything to do with windows 10, but a TON of problems people have with hardware is fixed with a simple bios update.
